We are beginning our adventure in Homeschooling! For the past year at least, we've just been casually working with Caleb on basic purposeful teaching moments, that for the most part, just naturally occurred. He can sing his ABCs and count to 13, he can write and type his name: CALEB...simple things like that and much more. Now as he will be turning 5 in this next year, we want to make our schooling efforts just a bit more purposeful, yet not ridged. We are leaning towards a natural/ classical type of learning style, but we'll take things one step at a time.
Last week the kids and I attended a Homeschooling picnic with some locals. Here is the website of the Christian Homeschooling Co-op we've joined. Feel free to check it out: www.longmont-chc.org
Also, our state has a great homeschooling support network: www.CHEC.org
On this blog, I hope to define our schooling goals, for our own benefit as well as to keep you Grandparents and close family/friends posted on what and how Caleb is doing this year academically. We (along with Caleb) hope to post at least weekly and include pictures of the things we are doing and learning together! Once Caleb is old enough (a bit further down the road)we hope to have him take over some posting to tell you all himself what he is learning! This blog will also serve as an online journal to help us keep track of our accomplishments along the way. We hope you enjoy it!
