Well, its hard to believe that summer is nearly over already!
We plan to start school back up on August 18th! This year we are making some changes...we have disenrolled with COVA and have made plans and placed orders with ABEKA homeschool curriculum!
We really enjoyed our time doing COVA and we are thankful for the great start to home education it provided us with, specifically in the area of planning and prep work. With Elisa being born right at the start of the school year, doing COVA's K12 curriculum made homeschooling possible at a busy time in our family. We were also blessed with being assigned to a great COVA teacher who was very encouraging and supportive.
On to Abeka...

Caleb will be doing 1st grade this year! Caroline will be working on some Kindergarten materials. She is very much wanting to attempt school, so we'll give it a try, knowing that she really has a whole year until she needs to start, so this year will be fun to give it a go.
Its going to be a busy year, but a FUN one too! We'll keep you posted!
This summer we were blessed to attend the Christian Home Educators of Colorado Conference held in Denver! It was wonderfully encouraging! http://chec.org/
To hear some of the seminars visit: http://www.best-christian-conferences.com/bcc/store/scripts/prodview.asp?idproduct=4143 (it says SAMPLES, but includes entire seminars)
Some of the speakers were: Doug Phillips, Dr. Voddie Baucham, Chris Clika, Kevin Swanson...just to name a few. What these men had to say was so encouraging and inspiring!
*Caleb and Ben are planing to kick off the Fall by attending a Father/Son Retreat!
