Here is Caleb- can you believe that in just 9 days, he'll be turning 7 years old already?
Time is flying by sooooo fast

God is blessing him in so many ways as he is maturing. We are amazed as we watch Caleb grow up, especially in the past few weeks.
This past summer, Caleb told us that he has decided to "Trust God." You can imagine how please, yet humbled we were to hear these words from him out of his own mouth. Wow! Amazing! God is answering our prayers for our little boy- we've always prayed that God would constantly be at work in his life and that He would soften Caleb's heart, even as a child.
We have prayed that Caleb would seek the Lord's Salvation- he has and he is. We have explained to him, the best we can, that he must always seek God's will and that he must strive to continually trust God day by day, not just once in his life and call it good and depend on a particular date of salvation.
We can tell that Caleb has been thinking about this. By his actions, his questions, his prayers...
May God always be at work in Caleb's life and we pray that Caleb will continue to trust God each day of his life, at all times and in all circumstances. He is learning the sweet joys of knowing that God is all powerful and that He alone deserves all praise from all of His creation. Living in this beautiful state of Colorado makes this resonate even more with Caleb! Caleb l-o-v-e-s the mountain views that are all around us. He often comments on how awesome God's creation is and he'll stare off deep in thought. He loves hiking and exploring and just beams as he does these things and continues to talk about God and his power. His siblings are stating to join in too.

Another way that Caleb has matured, is in his relationships with his siblings.
It is such a joy to see and hear him interact with grace and kindness (not to be misleading, as of course, he is not perfect at this every minute of every day, as none of us are). But seriously, he has come to be known for his sweet interactions, especially with his littlest sister, Elisa. It is sooo incredibly precious to watch him comfort her when she's sad or upset. Elisa often comes running to Caleb on her own, as she knows he loves her. Caleb will play blocks with her, put her in the stroller and give her rides, to help Mom have a break or just b/c he wants to play with her. He is so gentle and compassionate with her. He's even volunteered to feed her some meals. His heart is becoming so soft to Caroline, Joshua, and Elisa and we a treasuring this all up!
Next I want to tell you about another BIG accomplishment Caleb has made. He is truly ENJOYING to read and has become very good at it so quickly! And with this, he now wants to read his BIBLE! Out loud! He asks us to sit and read with him (meaning he wants us to listen to him as he reads.) What a privilege this is...to have a child ask you to stop what you're doing so he can read God's Word out loud! I'll be the first to admit though, at first it was a bit of a battle in my mind--I wanted to hear him read, but I wanted to "get my work done" too and not have to stop what I was doing. I thank God for giving me the little push I needed so badly to forget my work (that will always be there) and to sit down with my son, Caleb, while this is the desire of his little heart. We need to encourage Caleb to continue to do this! Dad is good about sitting with him too, even if he (Ben) falls asleep :)
Caleb is really loving to read the "Scripture," as he refers to it. How special! May reading Scripture always be precious to him!
Caleb, we pray that God will mature you into a "Man after God's own heart"
Parents reading this...encourage your little readers towards the Bible, so they can treasure up God's Word while they are young!
